Ice Haus
Focus Keywords: Sheridan commercial interior design, hockey-themed bar, hospitality design Wyoming, restaurant ceiling installations, premium bar tile, architectural curves.
Project Narrative: Located adjacent to the Sheridan ice rink, this mixed-use project serves a community that rallies around hockey culture. Our challenge was to create a space that felt deeply connected to the sport without resorting to jerseys-on-the-wall clichés. We wanted an environment that felt new, welcoming, and architecturally intentional.
The Design Approach: The design is defined by a repetitive connotation of curves—a subtle, sophisticated nod to the sweep of a hockey stick and the movement of a puck. We utilized a palette of inky dark blues for the ceiling and mechanical ducting, allowing these elements to fade away and let the artisan finishes take center stage.
Key Details:
The Stick Installation: We designed a custom wood ceiling element that mimics the lines of a hockey stick, serving as a functional divider that defines the transition between the bar and the eatery.
"Ice" Texture: The back bar features a high-tier tile installation that reaches to the ceiling, paired with a wallpaper reminiscent of ice texture to elevate the space from a "run-of-the-mill" bar to a premium experience.
Community Playfulness: The space includes unique touch points like a repurposed ski lift chair for photo ops and integrated lighting behind the hockey-stick details at the bar base.
