Project Narrative: The Wonder Bar is a historic Casper landmark. The owner’s vision was to revitalize this legendary "cowboy bar" into an upscale, multi-concept venue. Our goal was to create an old-school club feel that respected the building’s heritage while introducing a modern, sophisticated food concept.
The Design Approach: We leaned into a "masculine-elegant" palette, utilizing rich green tones and leather seating with traditional nailhead trim. To ground the massive scale of the space, we sourced architectural salvage and antiques from across the region, ensuring every corner of the dining room felt "collected" and storied.
Key Details:
Zoned Intimacy: We utilized arched openings filled with custom wall coverings and picture lights to create pockets of warmth and privacy within the high-ceilinged dining room.
Found History: A collage of historic photos and artisan artwork—much of it sourced from Wyoming and Denver antique shops—serves as a visual through-line connecting the bar’s past to its new iteration.
Traditional Refinement: The installation of replicate tin ceilings and large-scale tufted upholstery anchors the room, providing a sense of permanence and "solid" restaurant design.
