Classic Charmer

Casper, Wyoming

Focus Keywords: Historic home renovation, kitchen design, open shelving, eclectic interior design, vintage vanity.

Project Narrative: Located in a historic neighborhood, this 100-year-old home required a renovation that honored its character while accommodating the lifestyle of a well-traveled, minimalist family. This was a dramatic architectural shift; we constructed a significant addition to expand the footprint, transforming a cramped layout into an open, breathable floor plan.

The Design Approach: The clients are avid collectors. The design needed to serve as a quiet backdrop for their treasured pieces. For the kitchen, we moved away from heavy upper cabinets in favor of airy open shelving—a choice made possible by the clients' minimalist approach. This is anchored by a large metal hood and custom, precision lower cabinetry that adds modern weight and functionality to the space.

Key Details:

  • The Powder Room: Tucked beneath the stairwell, this space maximizes impact within a small footprint. It features Justina Blakeney wallpaper and unexpected texture combinations.

  • Sourced & Found: We integrated an auction-sourced vintage vanity into the bathroom design, balancing the new concrete floors and Zellige tile with a piece that carries its own history.

Material Mix: From the concrete floors to the warm wood tones of the millwork, the home feels current but deeply personal.
